Part Three In Our Series Of Facing Fears & Struggles For HSPs
As we continue our series on fears that HSPs struggle with (read part one and two), we’re going to hit on something today that all of us have done: suppressed emotions.
This was a big revelation for me. I had no idea that I’d been suppressing feelings in all of my relationships, particularly with a significant other.
The ramifications and effects of this pattern rippled out causing a slow erosion of trust and closing off from those I wanted to be close with.
Here’s A Closer View Into What This Looks Like:
On a busy Monday morning, as Jane steps into her workplace, a wave of stress washes over her. She’s already suppressing her emotions, a skill she’s mastered over the years. As a highly sensitive person (HSP), she’s acutely aware of her surroundings and feels everything deeply. But expressing her emotions has often been met with uncomfortable reactions, so she chooses to remain silent.
This silent struggle isn’t unique to Jane. Many HSPs find themselves suppressing their emotions, particularly the ones that don’t fall under the “happy, joyful, and peaceful” category…
